The Omnipotents are one of Canada’s greatest rock-n-roll exports, scoring platinum albums, headlining festivals, and playing sold-out arena tours all over Germany. But here at home the Toronto duo can’t catch a break and work in the local porn industry for years just to pay the bills. In this hilarious behind-the-scenes, tell-all satire, you’ll see just what it takes to make it in the Canadian entertainment industry as the band embarks on a last-ditch attempt at Canadian rock stardom!

Production History:

Big In Germany premiered at the 2010 Toronto Fringe Festival in a production directed by Vic Correia, and starring Rob Salerno, Michael S. Young, and Brad Hampton. It was then retooled for a 2011 tour to the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival and the Halifax Queer Acts Festival, in a new production directed by Rob Salerno and starring Danny Pagett, Eric Miinch, and Rob Salerno. In 2012, Salerno and Miinch took the show to the Winnipeg, Calgary, and Edmonton Fringe Festivals in production that featured guest performers Brent Hirose, Peter Carlone, and Kris Joseph.

In 2013, Ten Foot Pole Theatre embarked on an ambitious independent production at Toronto’s Buddies in Bad Times Theatre that expanded the show with a new cast and original music. Salerno directed Dylan George and Michael Goldlist as the hapless rock duo and also appeared in the show. Michael Goldlist and Rob Salerno wrote original music and lyrics. Dariusz Korbiel and Oz Weaver designed the set and lights.
