Playing at the 2009 Montreal and Toronto Fringe Festivals!

About FUCKING STEPHEN HARPER:

We've all heard the story of how gay journalist Rob Salerno sexually assaulted Prime Minister Stephen Harper during last year's election. Come hear Salerno's side of the story at this signing of his new tell-all memoir, FUCKING STEPHEN HARPER: How I Sexually Assaulted the 22nd Prime Minister of Canada and Where It Got Me, which Maclean's has called "An hilarious and powerful take on Canadian politics, the media, the gay community, and what Stephen Harper's balls feel like."

Rob Salerno is a journalist and award-winning theatre artist who writes for Canada's national gay newspaper. His last play, Balls, toured the Fringe circuit last year to rave reviews: "5 Stars -- This is theatre at its best" (Uptown Magazine); "4.5 Stars -- Seriously hilarious" (See Magazine); "4 Stars -- Clever and expertly staged... Salerno shines" (Ottawa Sun); Hamilton Fringe Playwriting Award; London Fringe Outstanding Production.

FUCKING STEPHEN HARPER was developed with the support of the Buddies in Bad Times Theatre Young Creators Unit. It was workshopped at the 2009 Rhubarb Festival and the Big Comedy Go-To in London, ON. It was inspired by Salerno's work as a journalist and his actual attempts to secure an interview with Stephen Harper during the 2008 federal election, and the Harper Conservatives' ongoing refusal to grant him an interview since being elected to office.
